Import License Application
All pesticide or toxic chemical is being imported into and used Antigua and Barbuda must receive approval via an Import License application prior to acquiring the items, to ensure that all the products to be imported are approved and registered for importation. Once the application is accepted, there is generally a forty-eight (48) hour turnover period.

How long does it take to process an Import Licence application?
An Import Licence application should be submitted prior to acquiring the items, to ensure that all the products to be imported are approved and registered for importation. Once the application is accepted, there is generally a forty-eight (48) hour turnover period.
Is there a cost associated with an Import Licence?
Yes. There is a processing fee of $10.00/Import Licence application per a 0.5% of the CIF value of the products requiring regulation. Each application must correspond to a single invoice.
Are there restrictions on who can import/use certain pesticides and toxic chemicals?
Yes, when a product is registered, the conditions of registration/use are attached to the registration decision. The Import Licence application process will determine whether the applicant has met the conditions of registration/use as attached to the registration decision.
Is there a cost associated with an Import Licence?
Yes.
- Application for registration or renewal of registration of a pesticide formulation or active ingredient already registered in a member country of the Coordinating Group of Pesticides Control Boards of the Caribbean (CGPC): $510.00
- Application for registration of a pesticide formulation or active ingredient that has not been previously registered in a CGPC member country: ($1510.00).
